Richard Karlson II

Richard "Randy" Karlson II has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and organizations. Richard "Randy" is currently working as a Relationship Director - Higher Education at Hanover Research since August 2021. Previously, Randy served as the Director of LIU Promise at Long Island University from March 2021 to August 2021, the Director of Student Affairs from December 2020 to March 2021, and the Associate Director of Athletics from September 2019 to December 2020. Richard "Randy" also worked at Washington and Lee University as the Assistant Director for Career and Professional Development from April 2019 to September 2019 and as the Assistant Director for Recruitment, Career and Professional Development from July 2017 to March 2019. Additionally, Randy held the position of Regional Admissions Representative at Long Island University from July 2016 to July 2017. Richard "Randy" gained early experience as an Intern at Van Scoyoc Associates in 2015 and 2014. Randy started their professional journey as a Legislative Intern for Representative Kate Hogan at the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in 2013.

Richard "Randy" Karlson II attended Washington and Lee University from 2012 to 2016, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Politics and Mass Communications. In 2021, they enrolled at Stony Brook University Graduate School and completed their Master of Arts (MA) in Higher Education Administration in 2022. Prior to their higher education journey, they attended Hudson High School from 2008 to 2012. Additionally, Randy holds certifications such as LIU Safe Zone from Long Island University and Mental Health First Aid USA from the National Council for Behavioral Health, both obtained in 2019. Richard "Randy" also received the Strong Interest Inventory certification from The Myers-Briggs Company in the same year.
