Anna-Karin Robertson

Head of Research Alliances at Hansa Medical

Anna-Karin Robertson has a comprehensive work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Anna-Karin has worked as the Head of Research Alliances and Director of Biology at Hansa Biopharma AB. Prior to that, they worked at Probi AB as the Director of Discovery, where they oversaw the long-term probiotic research platform and contributed their scientific expertise to various R&D projects. Before joining Probi AB, they were a Principal Scientist at BioInvent International AB. Additionally, they worked as a Project Leader and Assistant Professor at Karolinska Institutet and as a Postdoctoral Associate at Yale University School of Medicine, where they conducted research on molecular immune regulation and TGF-beta signaling. Anna-Karin also worked as a PhD Student at Karolinska Institutet, studying the role of adaptive immunity in the development of atherosclerosis. Anna-Karin began their research career as a Research Fellow at the Sahlgrenska Academy at Gothenburg University.

Anna-Karin Robertson has an extensive education history. Anna-Karin earned their Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Molecular Nutrition, Chemistry, and Immunology from Stockholm University in the years 1991 to 1996. Following this, they pursued their Ph.D. in Experimental Medicine at Karolinska Institutet from 1999 to 2004. Finally, they completed their Postdoctoral associate in Immunobiology at Yale University School of Medicine from 2004 to 2008.
