About the role

We are seeking a VP of Finance / Head of Finance to drive financial strategy, focusing on profitability and long-term sustainability. You'll lead accounting and FP&A teams, collaborating with the CEO and senior management to develop financial strategies, manage cash flow, and optimise costs. Your insights will guide data-driven decision-making at the executive level.

On a strategic level, you’ll influence company-wide reporting, forecasting, and budgeting based on financial data and SaaS KPIs. Tactically, you'll align the finance team with company goals, ensuring timely and accurate monthly financials, reports and financial statements.

The ideal candidate is driven, proactive and solution-oriented with an analytical mindset. Your strong interpersonal skills will be key to successfully work with cross-functional global leaders and different teams.

The position is a fixed one-year maternity leave replacement.

You will be doing:

Financial Strategy & Planning:

• Develop and execute financial strategies aimed at achieving profitability and long-term sustainability.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and financial forecasting, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
• Analyse financial performance and provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and executive team as well as insights to the investors.
• Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial monthly reports and annual financial statements.
• Support the CEO in investor relations, providing necessary financial data and insights.

Cost Optimization & Cash Flow Management:

• Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring the company has adequate resources to meet its operational needs.
• Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising on growth potential or product quality.

Leadership & Team Management:

• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and FP&A teams, fostering a culture of high performance and collaboration.

What you bring

• Proven experience as a VP of Finance, Head of Finance or similar senior financial leadership role, preferably within a SaaS or tech start-up environment.
• Strong background in financial planning, analysis, and strategy, with a track record of driving profitability.
• Experience leading and developing finance teams, with a focus on accounting and FP&A.
• Experience in a company at a similar stage (post-Series B, growth phase) is highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation.
• In-depth knowledge of Finnish and international financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards is a plus.
• Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Finnish is a plus.
