Joe Michaels has over 20 years of experience in sales, business development, and marketing. Joe began their career in 1996 as a Co-Founder and Principal of Century Technology Group. In 1998, they Co-Founded Nexchange Corporation, where they served as President and Chief Marketing Officer. Joe was responsible for sales, marketing, and business development teams, with budget and P&L responsibility, and raised $17 million in private funding. In 2001, they joined Microsoft as the Director and Senior Director of MSN Business Development, managing 9 business development executives and overseeing all contract negotiations for Microsoft’s MSN business in the US. Joe was a member of the Corporate Vice President’s global senior leadership team devising strategy to serve MSN’s audience of 435 million. Joe created MSN Video service, a pioneer of ad-supported video content on the Internet, and struck some of the Internet's earliest revenue-sharing video distribution deals. In 2016, they were appointed Chief Revenue Officer at HaptX Inc., where they lead sales, business development and marketing for HaptX, creator of HaptX Gloves. HaptX builds technology that simulates touch sensation with unprecedented realism.

Joe Michaels attended The Loomis Chaffee School from an unknown start and end year. Joe then attended Georgetown University from 1986 to 1990, where they completed a Bachelor's Degree in English and Fine Arts. Lastly, they attended The Wharton School from 1995 to 1997, where they completed a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Marketing & Entrepreneurial Management.
