Valerie Moyer

Chief Behavioral Health Officer at Harbor Corporation

Valerie Moyer, Ph.D., is the Vice President of Behavioral Health Services and EAP at Harbor. Dr. Moyer joined Harbor as a part of the Behavioral Connections merger in July 2014, and has worked for over 14 years with the combined agencies.

After attending undergraduate school at John Carroll University, Valerie obtained her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Bowling Green State University in August 2008. She is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and originally joined Behavioral Connections as the Assessment Program Manager where she worked to increase walk-in assessment availability and adapt the assessment process for the electronic health record. She then focused on addressing quality, compliance, and certification responsibilities as the Director of Compliance.

Upon joining with Harbor, Valerie worked for several years in the Quality Improvement department including leading the agency’s certification and accreditation activities, developing performance improvement projects to continuously enhance the services provided to Harbor’s clients, and monitoring ongoing compliance, privacy, and safety concerns at the agency. As the leader of Behavioral Health Services, Valerie oversees the operations of Harbor’s therapy, case management, day treatment, outpatient substance use disorder services, and Employee Assistance Program. It is her passion to make a difference in the lives of others accomplished by supporting the amazing clinical team at Harbor in providing high-quality care that makes an impact every day in clients’ lives.
