Marnix van der Kleij

Marnix van der Kleij has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Marnix currently works as the CFO & Head of Strategy at Hardt Hyperloop since May 2023. Prior to that, they served as a Transition CFO at the same company from November 2022 to May 2023.

Before joining Hardt Hyperloop, Marnix was involved in Intersaction, a private equity firm, where they held multiple positions. Marnix started as a Founder & Managing Partner in September 2013 and served in this role until December 2021. During their time at Intersaction, Marnix focused on transformative, international growth at small and medium-sized enterprises, with key investment themes in safety, sustainability, and digitalization. Additionally, they were an Operating Partner at Intersaction from January 2022 to December 2022.

Marnix also had involvement in various supervisory board positions. Marnix served as a Supervisory Board Member at BMAir International BV from October 2018 to December 2022. Similarly, they held a Supervisory Board Member position at Clean Solutions Group from November 2016 to December 2022, and at InterConsulting Group from July 2015 to June 2022.

Prior to their work in private equity and supervisory roles, Marnix had a significant tenure at UBS Investment Bank. Marnix worked at UBS for 13 years, from July 2000 to May 2013, and held the position of Executive Director in the Investment Banking Department. During their time at UBS, Marnix gained extensive experience in international corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and capital markets. Marnix provided corporate finance advisory services across various sectors, executed M&A transactions, IPOs, and debt/capital raisings. Marnix was also the primary coverage banker for approximately 20 Dutch corporates, financial institutions, and private equity firms, including ABN AMRO, Philips, CVC Amsterdam, and Waterland Private Equity. Marnix played a key role in growing the Dutch team and was involved in significant deals such as ABN Amro/Barclays, RBS-led Consortium, UPS/TNT, and Philips/Saeco, among others.

Marnix van der Kleij earned their Master of Science (MSc) degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Finance from Erasmus University Rotterdam. Marnix studied at the university from 1994 to 2000.
