Darien Dey is an accomplished educator with a focus on transformative curriculum development and data analysis. Currently serving as a First Grade Teacher at Harlem Link Charter School since August 2021, Darien has designed a writing curriculum inspired by Black history and historical documents. Previous experience includes serving as a Data and Evaluation Program Coordinator for Health Volunteers Overseas, where Darien managed and analyzed data from volunteer assignments, and as a Policy Research Intern at Advance Illinois, contributing to significant legislation on equitable school funding. Additionally, experience as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Chicago involved in qualitative data analysis and research on racial experiences, complemented by a role as Operations Manager and Compliance Officer at The 1881 Institute of Technology, where Darien coordinated a STEM camp. Darien holds a Master of Arts in Elementary Education and Teaching and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, both from the University of Chicago.
