José Villarnovo

José Villarnovo has a strong background in software engineering, with roles at various companies and research groups. José currently works as a Senior Software Engineer at Harmoney since May 2018. Prior to that, they worked at MercadoLibre.com as a Software Engineer from November 2014 to November 2017. At MercadoLibre.com, José gained experience in technologies such as Groovy & Grails, Spring, Java, Android, HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, npm, git, gulp, SASS, nginx, vagrant, newRelic, Jenkins, Sonar, Coveralls, Node.js, JUnit, and Spock.

Before joining MercadoLibre.com, José worked as a Software Engineer at INNOVA S.A. from January 2012 to August 2014. Furthermore, they gained research experience at Universidad Tecnológica Nacional. José worked with the Geographic Information Systems research group from January 2011 to December 2011 and with High-performance computing systems research group from January 2009 to December 2010. In the latter role, José built/configured a cluster and developed high-performance applications using technologies such as CUDA C, Open MPI, and Linux Red Hat.

José Villarnovo obtained their Bachelor's and Technical Degree in Production of Goods and Services from Escuela Superior Integral de Lechería "La Santísima Trinidad" from the years 2000 to 2005. Following that, they pursued a degree in Information Systems Engineering from Universidad Tecnológica Nacional, completing it from 2008 to 2014. José also accumulated multiple certifications over the years, including AWS Lambda Foundations, AWS Serverless APIs & Apps, AWS Well-Architected, and Serverless Framework Bootcamp: Node.js, AWS & Microservices. José also completed various online courses and certifications, such as Angular Front To Back, Modern React with Redux, Getting Started with Google Kubernetes Engine, Learn and Understand NodeJS, JavaScript: Understanding the Weird Parts, M101J: MongoDB for Java Developers, M101JS: MongoDB for Node.js Developers, and New Relic Certified Performance Pro.
