John Coppins

John Coppins is a seasoned professional in event management and player services, currently serving as the Senior Director of Events at the Harris County - Houston Sports Authority since September 2023. Previously, John held various roles at the United States Golf Association (USGA) from February 2012 to August 2023, including Director of Player Services and several championship management positions, notably for the U.S. Women's Open and U.S. Open Championships. John’s experience also includes a stint as a Program Specialist at the Florida Department of Education and internships in operations during multiple U.S. Open Championships. John earned a Bachelor of Science in Business with a focus on Management from Florida State University, graduating in 2011.
