Afia Ahmed Chaudhry

Assistant Principal - Head Of Sixth Form at Harris Federation.

Afia Ahmed Chaudhry's work experience begins with their role as an Assistant Center Manager at Study Tuition Center in 2011. Afia Ahmed then served as a Learning Mentor for Religion & Philosophy at Sir George Monoux College in the same year. In 2012, they worked as an English Tutor at Best Tutors. From 2013 to 2014, they worked as a Research Assistant at the University of London.

In 2014, they joined Islam Channel as a Researcher and Anchor, a role they held until 2018. During this time, they joined Teach First in 2018 as Deputy Head of History and Gatsby Careers Lead, a position they held until 2022. From 2021 to 2022, they also worked as the Head of Education at the Hussain Foundation.

In 2022, Chaudhry became an Assistant Principal at The Whitefield School, where they stayed until June 2023. Currently, they hold the position of Assistant Principal - Head of Sixth Form at the Harris Federation, starting from June 2023.

Afia Ahmed Chaudhry has a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from SOAS University of London. Afia Ahmed then pursued a Master's degree in Education, Policy and Society from King's College London. After that, they completed a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) in History from IOE - UCL's Faculty of Education and Society. Currently, Afia is working towards a DPhil (Doctor of Philosophy) in Education from the University of Oxford.
