Harris Group is seeking an Associate Mechanical Engineer to join our Charleston, SC region. This is an exciting opportunity for an entry-level Engineer to learn and grow! The Role
The Associate Mechanical Engineer position provides opportunities to problem-solve and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria on varied and diverse projects. The ideal candidate will have a background in Mechanical Engineering and a passion to develop in the Mechanical discipline. The Associate Mechanical Engineer will work primarily on projects within the aerospace, industrial manufacturing, chemical/process, energy, and renewable energy sectors. Additional projects may include work on projects within life sciences, air and seaports, commercial development, and other business sectors.
The Responsibilities
Serve as a technical resource on complex designs and advance engineering theories, concepts, principles, and processes.
Perform mechanical design, working with other members of the mechanical staff, and coordinate with other disciplines on specific projects.
Coordinate design with vendor supplied equipment.
The Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 0 - 3 years of relevant experience.
Working knowledge of mechanical engineering techniques commonly used in industrial capital projects.
Ability to identify, interpret and apply relevant codes and standards to engineering designs.
Ability and willingness to travel to an off-site location and/or accept client site assignments when required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Self-starter with a strong work ethic.
EIT certification a plus.
Ability to use a computer and computer software programs, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
