Director, Learning & Social Impact at Hartford Symphony Orchestra

Timothy Brown is the current Director of Learning & Social Impact at Hartford Symphony Orchestra. Previously, they worked as a Project Manager for the National Geographic Society from December 2017 to November 2019, where they were in charge of live interdisciplinary events at Universities nationwide. Before that, they were the Assistant Editor at Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies from October 2015 to November 2017, where they wrote and edited long form feature articles, profiles, and press releases for the F&ES website. Timothy is also a founding member of Yale Environmental Humanities Steering Committee and the Editor In Chief of Sage Magazine. Timothy Brown began their career as an Editorial Intern at Yale Environment 360 (e360) from May 2014 to September 2014.

Timothy Brown started their educational career by completing a Master of Environmental Science at Yale School of the Environment. Their focus while at Yale was Social Ecology. After Yale, Timothy completed a Bachelor of Arts and Science at The Evergreen State College. Their focus while at Evergreen was Conservation Biology and Music.

Timothy Brown reports to Steve Collins, President & CEO. They are on a team with Ruth Sovronsky - Director of Development, Ashley Overton - Marketing & Digital Media Coordinator, and Carolyn Kuan - Music Director.
