Unit Director at Hartford's Camp Courant

Ricky Clark has a diverse work experience that spans from 2006 to the present. Ricky began their career as a Unit Director at Hartford's Camp Courant, where they planned and facilitated recreational activities for adolescents, creating a safe and positive environment for them. In 2006, they also started working at New Britain Parks & Recreation as a Parking & Concessions Supervisor, organizing recreational activities and serving as a role model to their staff. Additionally, they supervised and ensured a safe working environment for their team. Later on, they became an After School Program Site Supervisor, where they continued to provide recreational activities and a safe environment for various after-school activities, while also assisting youth with homework and promoting positive impact on their futures. In 2013, they joined the New Britain Board of Education as a Job Coach, directly assisting students in training or placement sites, teaching them work-related skills and behaviors, and serving as a positive role model.

Ricky Clark pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Criminal Justice from Becker College, completing their studies from 2007 to 2011. Subsequently, they enrolled at Central Connecticut State University where they earned a Master's degree in Counselor Education/School Counseling and Guidance Services, studying from 2017 to 2020.

Hartford's Camp Courant

Founded in 1894, Hartford's Camp Courant is the nation's oldest and largest FREE summer program currently in the United States. Hartford residents between the ages of 5 and 12 participate in a variety of recreational, educational and cultural programs each year at our campus in Farmington. Transportation, two nutritious meals, health care, and a wide range of youth development opportunities are included for every camper. All of the programs are geared towards developing self-esteem, building positive relationships and having fun.
