YOUR MISSION
Your mission is to drive Hawk’s financial excellence; lead and grow the accounting function whilst continuing to deliver top quality group-level reporting and consolidated financial statements as the company scales. You will play a key role in building a world-class Finance function to support the rapid growth of the organization. Collaborating with our incredibly talented and diverse team, representing 26+ nationalities across Europe, the USA, and beyond, in our united effort to combat financial crime on a global scale. Together, we will ensure Hawk's financial strength and operational excellence, contributing to a safer world.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Overall ownership of the Group’s consolidated reporting and the related processes, ensuring that reporting is timely and accurate
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions
- Improve and harmonize financial processes across the group, with a focus on automated workflows, ensuring that Hawk is continuously prepared for upcoming growth and needs ahead of time
- Contribute to the selection & implementation of new group-wide accounting, consolidation and FP&A software system
- Pro-actively implement proper controls, accounting policies and guidance for all team members
- Own the preparation of annual consolidated financial statements adhering to IFRS standards and manage the external auditors and tax advisors
- Initially, this role will include the in-house operational accounting for the newly established international entities (APAC, UK, possibly others to follow)
- Build and lead a team of 2-3 people (in 2025/26 with further growth beyond that), with a focus on their development and professional growth
YOUR PROFILE
- 7-10+ years of experience in an international Finance / Accounting team, preferably with leadership experience
- Accounting qualification, such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, WP, StB, Kauf-mann/frau Ausbildung or other international equivalent
- Located in Munich, Berlin or London
- Expertise in IFRS and knowledge of German accounting standards (HGB) and the differences between the
- Knowledge of tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements
- Experience with multiple ERP systems, we currently use Datev, Quickbooks and Xero
- Experience of implementing a new ERP system is a plus
- Very strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Pragmatic with a "can do/ getting things done" attitude and a track record of delivering results
- Structured, analytical thinker and numbers-driven, able to align your actions with company goals
- Perform tasks with accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent English language skills & comfortable working in an international environment (German not required, but would be a plus)
