Phillip Taylor has a diverse work experience in various roles and positions. Phillip has served as the Director of Safety and Security at Hays Consolidated Independent, overseeing emergency management, safety planning, and serving as a liaison for public safety agencies. Phillip was also elected Mayor of Mountain City, Texas, responsible for running city council meetings and maintaining relationships with other cities and governmental units. Additionally, Phillip has held several positions at Hays County Sheriff’s Office, including Sergeant in various divisions, Detective in Criminal Investigations, and Deputy Sheriff in the Patrol Division. Phillip has also worked as a Corrections Officer and Bailiff at Hays County Court at Law.
Phillip Taylor attended Jack C. Hays High School from 1993 to 1996, where they obtained their high school diploma. Following this, they went on to enroll at Texas State University from 1996 to 2019, where they pursued a degree in Criminal Justice with a focus on Law Enforcement. In addition to their formal education, Phillip Taylor also obtained various certifications, including Instructor Proficiency, Master County Jailer, Master Peace Officer, Mental Health Peace Officer, and Special Investigator, from institutions such as the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) and TCLEOSE.
