Head of Diagnostic Development at Haystack Oncology

Matt Ryder has a comprehensive background in the field of clinical genomics and diagnostics. Matt is currently the Head of Diagnostic Development at Haystack Oncology, a position they have held since August 2021.

Prior to their current role, Matt worked at Sysmex Inostics, where they held multiple positions from 2017 to 2021. Matt started as a Product Manager, responsible for the design and commercialization of clinical oncology diagnostics. Matt then progressed to Sr. Global Manager, Oncology Products, leading the design and commercialization of Sysmex's molecular tests. Later, they became the Associate Director of Biomarkers & Companion Diagnostics, where they focused on developing new clinical oncology liquid biopsy assays for biopharma partners. Finally, they served as the Director of Translational Science & CDx, overseeing the translation of testing services into distributable IVD products.

Before Sysmex Inostics, Matt worked at SeraCare Life Sciences as a Technical Product Manager from 2016 to 2017. In this role, they led the development and commercialization of products for clinical oncology diagnostics.

Matt's career in the field of diagnostics began at Myriad Genetics in 2011. Matt first served as a Research Associate II-III, responsible for the development and validation of LDTs for inherited cancer testing. Matt also led a group focused on resolving challenging patient samples. Later, they became the Companion Diagnostics Manager and Scientist, leading the product development and FDA submissions for companion diagnostic laboratory developed tests.

Overall, Matt Ryder has a strong background in clinical genomics, diagnostics, and companion diagnostics, with extensive experience in product development, commercialization, and regulatory affairs.

Matt Ryder completed their Bachelor's Degree in Cell and Molecular Biology at the University of Virginia from 2003 to 2007. Matt then pursued further studies in the Biology Graduate Program at the University of Utah from 2007 to 2010, although the specific degree obtained during this period is unknown.
