Erkan Gurgen has a diverse range of work experience in the field of software engineering. Erkan started their career as a freelancer in 2003, working as a software developer. Erkan then joined Meteksan Sistem as a Senior Software Engineer, where they were responsible for technical coordination of projects and played a major role in the design and development of software architecture and prototypes.
Erkan then worked as a Short Term Senior IT Expert at the Secretariat General for EU Affairs, where they analyzed, designed, and implemented IT solutions for the Translation Coordination Unit. Erkan was also a Team Lead/Senior Software Engineer at Woisio, where they played a crucial role in the development of new features and the maintenance and improvement of the existing system. Erkan mentored team members in this role as well.
Erkan's most recent position was at eDreams ODIGEO as a Senior Software Engineer. Erkan was a member of the Metasearchers team, involved in the development and maintenance of services for handling flight metasearch engines' requests. Erkan also contributed significantly to the design, development, and improvement of back-end software packages, including the development of an angular front-end application for an API. Erkan played an active role in upgrading the technology stack and migrating to microservices.
Currently, Erkan Gurgen is employed at Hazelcast as a Solutions Architect - Support, utilizing their expertise to provide technical solutions and support for customers.
Erkan Gurgen completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical&Electronics Engineering at Middle East Technical University from 1993 to 1999. Erkan then pursued a Master of Science degree in Cognitive Science from Middle East Technical University, which they obtained from 1999 to 2002.
