Senior Software Engineer at Hazy

Guillermo Castillo has worked in the software engineering field for over 15 years. Guillermo began their career in 2005 as a Programmer at Plastigomez, where they were responsible for supporting and developing applications in VB6 legacy systems and PHP. In 2008, they moved to Firefant Solutions as a Senior Developer, where they developed software with Java Swing for Desktop and web applications using Spring, Hibernate and others. From 2012 to 2013, they worked as a Senior Developer at Kruger Corporation, where they developed and maintained applications using the MVC model with Spring Framework, Hibernate and others. In 2013, they joined BlueShift Local Inc as a Senior Developer, where they worked on solutions for scrapping processes using Python, Postgresql, MongoDB, Javascript, NodeJS, BackboneJS, and advanced use of threading and multiprocessing for distributed computing on a big cluster. In 2014, they moved to iSeatz as a Full Stack Developer and Tech Lead, where they were responsible for the development and maintenance of multiple high-end applications and services using Elixir, Ecto and the Phoenix Framework, ReactJS with redux, Ruby on Rails, Docker, AWS Serverless, Redis, AngularJS, NodeJS, SASS, Vagrant, Git and Jira. In 2016, they founded Sequbot, a side-project where they built the product from the ground up, which is an instagram follow bot that uses machine learning to make intelligent follows. In 2020, they joined Hazy as a Senior Software Engineer.

Guillermo Castillo obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Computer Science from Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral in the years between 2005 and 2011. Guillermo also holds a CCNA certification from Cisco.
