Sofiane Mahiou

Head of Data Science at Hazy

Sofiane Mahiou has held a variety of roles in the technology industry since 2014. In 2013, they were a Team Member for the MIG Project at Mines Paristech, providing code in Python and C for the signal processing and machine learning modules. In 2014, they were a Project Manager for the QB5 Project at Mines Paristech, organizing and scheduling the work of 20 students. In 2015, they were a Research Engineer Intern at Kelda Drilling Controls, developing software modules to help develop automatic drilling control software. In 2016, they were a Cofounder of an entrepreneurial project at Q4U. In 2017, they were a Master Thesis - Research Intern at UCL, improving performance on state-of-the-art question-answering algorithms on the SQuAD benchmark. sofiane was also Head of Data Science at Hazy, working on developing state-of-the-art data classification and anonymisation algorithms in Hazy's software.

Sofiane Mahiou began their education in 2011 when they attended Lycée Janson-de-Sailly and obtained a L2 in Mathematics and Physics. From 2013 to 2016, they attended Mines Paris and earned a Diplôme d'ingénieur civile in Engineering. In 2016, they attended UCL and earned a MSc in Computational Statistics and Machine Learning in Computer Science and Statistics.
