Head Of Cyber Security Software Assurance at HBF

Glen Scott has extensive work experience in the field of cybersecurity. Glen's most recent role is as the Head of Cyber Security Software Assurance at HBF Health since October 2022. Prior to that, Glen worked as a Security Assurance Lead at HBF Health, where they led the Penetration Testing and Application Security teams. Glen has also worked as a Senior Penetration Tester and a Senior Cyber Threat Responder at HBF Health.

Before joining HBF Health, Glen worked at Commonwealth Bank as a Penetration Tester for five years. Glen also has experience working at Pawsey Supercomputing Centre as a Data Security Adviser, at BAE Systems Applied Intelligence as a Senior Consultant in Cybersecurity, and at Edith Cowan University in various roles including Senior Information Security Analyst, Senior Systems Administrator, Acting Operations Co-ordinator, IT Manager, and Server Administrator.

Glen's earlier work experience includes roles at Industrial Software Solutions (ISS Group) as a Systems and Network Administrator, at the Government of Western Australia Department of Health as an Information Systems Support Officer, and at NetServ Communications as a Technical Support Officer and Web Developer. Throughout their career, Glen has gained expertise in areas such as penetration testing, security assurance, vulnerability assessment, incident management, and technical system design.

Glen Scott began their education journey at Edith Cowan University in 2000, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. Glen successfully completed this degree in 2007. In 2009, Glen returned to Edith Cowan University to pursue another Bachelor of Science degree, this time in the field of Psychology. Glen finished this degree in 2013.

In 2012, Glen enrolled in the Edith Cowan University Security Research Institute for Control Systems Cyber Security Training. Although specific details about the degree obtained are not provided, they completed this training program within the same year.

Additionally, Glen has obtained several certifications to further enhance their skills and knowledge. In 2011, they achieved the ITILv3 Foundation certification from APMG International. In 2015, Glen earned the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from (ISC)². In 2017, they obtained the Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) certification from Offensive Security. Lastly, in 2019, Glen acquired two certifications: GIAC Advisory Board from GIAC Certifications and GIAC Exploit Researcher and Advanced Penetration Tester (GXPN), also from GIAC Certifications.
