Koen Dijkstra has a diverse work experience with a background in healthcare and academia. Koen'smost recent role was as Project Lead at HCM Medical since February 2021. Prior to that, they worked as an Assistant Conservator at Universiteits Museum Utrecht, where they were involved in the museum's redevelopment and reopening. Koen also gained research experience as a Junior Researcher/PhD candidate at UMC Utrecht in the field of Orthopedics from June 2015 to October 2018. Additionally, Koen has worked as an Examentrainer at Studiekring, completed an MSc graduation internship at UMC Utrecht, and held various positions at WisMon, University of Twente, and Concordia Film | Theater | Beeldende kunst. During their clinical internships at University of Twente, they specialized in Nephrology at UMC Utrecht. Koen also served as a member of the Studenten vakevaluatie commissie MSc Reconstructive Medicine.
Koen Dijkstra completed their education at the University of Twente, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Technical Medicine from 2008 to 2011. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Reconstructive Medicine from 2011 to 2015 at the same university. Prior to their university education, Koen attended Staring College Lochem from 2002 to 2008, where they completed their VWO degree. In addition to their formal education, Koen has obtained several certifications including WMO/GCP Training from the Julius Center, Advanced Life Support, Basic Life Support, Laboratory Animal Science from CDL Nijmegen at Radboud University, and Radiation Expertise (Stralingshygiëne Niv. 3) from Radboud University Nijmegen.
