Nicole Brown has a diverse range of work experience in the field of communications. Starting in 2002, they worked as a Communications Intern for Make-A-Wish® Central & South Texas, where they handled media relations and events. Nicole then worked as a Program Assistant for the Family Service Association, assisting with events and grant writing. In 2004, they became a Marketing & Publicity Associate at BenBella Books, where they managed book marketing and public relations campaigns. From 2005 to 2009, they served as an Assistant Director of Communications at The Hockaday School, overseeing the writing, editing, and design of various communications materials. Nicole then took on roles at The Northwest School, where they served as an Interim Website Manager and later as a Communications & Marketing Manager. At The Bush School, they worked as an Interim Communications Manager, responsible for web updates, communications, and alumni relations. Nicole also worked as a Marketing Communications Consultant and Webmaster at Puget Sound Independent Schools, implementing marketing initiatives and maintaining a strong social media presence. Most recently, they joined HCM Strategists as the Director of Communications in 2021. Throughout their career, Nicole has developed expertise in various areas, including graphic design, media relations, website management, and content writing.

Nicole Brown pursued their higher education chronologically, starting in 1999 at the University of North Texas with a focus on Journalism. Nicole then transferred to The University of Texas at Austin in 2000, where they obtained two Bachelor of Science degrees. The first degree was in Radio-Television-Film, which they completed in 2003. During this time, they were also studying Journalism with a concentration in Public Relations/Advertising, which they completed in the same year.
