David Koo

David Koo, PLA, is a Landscape Architect and Urban Designer with a diverse background in landscape architecture, urban design, and planning. Currently employed at HDR since August 2025, David previously served as an Associate at Studio-MLA from April 2022 to September 2025, contributing to notable projects such as the Stanford University Arboretum and UC Berkeley Greek Theater Renovations. Prior experience includes roles as Associate at Groundworks Office and Studio + Media Instructor at UC Berkeley. Early career highlights include internships at Sasaki and urban design work at Meléndrez, emphasizing expertise in community outreach and project planning. David holds a Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture from UC Berkeley and a Bachelor's Degree in Urban & Regional Planning from California Polytechnic Pomona University.
