Dione Banks has extensive experience in community development and health equity. From 2013 to the present, they have served as the Director of Community Development at Head Start of Greater Dallas, where they have successfully increased the agency's media footprint and analyzed media data to determine effective promotional strategies. Prior to this, Dione worked at the American Heart Association | American Stroke Association, holding various roles from 2005 to 2013. As the Regional Director of Health Equity in Dallas/Ft. Worth, they cultivated strategic partnerships and oversaw the implementation of a hypertension management program. Dione also served as the Cultural Health Initiatives Director in Dallas and Kansas, leading sponsorship activation activities and coordinating large-scale events featuring Grammy Award-winning artists. Additionally, Dione worked as the Community Heart and Stroke/State Health Alliance Director in Kansas, collaborating with internal staff and state alliances to promote AHA messaging and organize educational conferences.
Dione Banks pursued their undergraduate education from 2000 to 2004 at Kansas State University, where they received a B.A. degree in Journalism/Mass Communications. Later, in 2014-2016, they furthered their education at Northwood University, obtaining a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a specialization in Business Administration and Management, General. In 2017, Dione Banks attended UCLA Anderson School of Management as a Head Start Management Fellow, focusing on management studies. Additionally, in May 2021, they obtained a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education.
