Hajrah Yousef

Governor at Headington School

Born and raised in Oxford, Hajrah has savoured all the opportunities presented, specifically around her love for sports and athletics. She was captain for the Rugby team, representing the county at different tournaments as well as a keen runner for the city in both long and short distance. Hajrah completed a Sports and Exercise Diploma with distinction, before discovering a passion for healthcare whilst supporting residents with Dementia. Hajrah has studied Mental Health nursing at Oxford Brookes University and worked within the city for Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust since qualifying. She has spent much of her career supporting adults with severe and enduring mental health conditions, as well as multiple other challenges. Hajrah has spent time teaching aspects of forensic mental health, both within the trust, as well as at Oxford Brookes University and has been heavily involved with recruitment and retention working groups, both locally and working towards international recruitment. Hajrah is now working within Child and Adolescent Mental Health services, leading a new provision across the county to support young people and their families.

Hajrah became a Governor at Headington School in January 2023. Hajrah sits on the Education Committee.
