Mental Health & Resilience Program Lead at Health and Education for All (HAEFA)

Upama Aktaruzzaman has a diverse work experience in public health and education. Upama is currently working as the Senior Manager of the National Coordinating Center for Public Health Training at the National Network of Public Health Institutes. In this role, they are responsible for connecting the public health workforce to training and growth opportunities. Upama is also involved in the Indigenous Public Health Leaders Program, a leadership program for AI/AN Tribal members.

Upama then pursued their Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) degree with a specialization in Global Community Health and Behavioral Sciences - Maternal and Child Health at Tulane University School of Medicine from 2012 to 2014. In 2016, they obtained the certification of Chronic Disease Self Management Program Leader from the Stanford Patient Education Research Center. Additionally, they obtained the certification of Mental Health First Aid in June 2020. It is unclear if they obtained a Master of Public Health degree from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.
