Mohammad El Firikh has extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Mohammad is currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer at Health Assurance Hospitals Company - DHAMAN. Prior to this, they held the same position at Abu Dhabi Health Services Company- SEHA, where they managed corporate operations, strategic planning, and performance management for multiple hospitals and medical centers. Mohammad also played a key role in the expansion and commissioning of new hospitals. Before joining SEHA, Mohammad held leadership positions at Al Bustan Medical Center and AlAman Health Care. Mohammad'scareer began at Makassed General Hospital in Lebanon, where they served as the Hospital Director and successfully transformed it into a leading teaching tertiary care medical center. Throughout their tenure, they achieved significant financial growth, improved staff morale, and enhanced overall performance.

Mohammad El Firikh has a diverse educational background in the healthcare field. In 1976, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from the American University of Beirut. Following this, from 1981 to 1982, they pursued a Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) degree at Tulane University in the USA, specializing in Hospital Administration, Nursing Administration, and International Health. Later, from 1992 to 1993, they were a Doctor of Public Health (DR PH) candidate at John Hopkins University in the USA, studying Hospital Administration and Health Finance. Lastly, in 1996, they participated in a 4-month certificate program in Financing Healthcare at Boston University in the USA. Through their various educational experiences, Mohammad El Firikh has acquired a strong foundation in nursing, healthcare administration, and finance.

Since its establishment in 2014 based on an Amiri Directive as part of the national development plan (New Kuwait 2035). Health Assurance Hospitals Company (DHAMAN) is the first Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) healthcare organization in the Middle East and the first company in the Gulf to offers its services based on the Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) model. DHAMAN handles providing Kuwait’s mandatory health insurance for expatriates through establishing an integrated healthcare system that includes medical insurance programs, as well as building and operating a network of primary healthcare centers and hospitals that cover all areas in Kuwait while applying best professional practices to achieve sustainability in healthcare and investing in the infrastructure of the health sector based on highest international standards and recruiting over 7,000 highly qualified individuals in medical and administrative fields. The shareholder structure of DHAMAN consists of government bodies represented by Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA) and the Public Institution for Social Security (PIFSS) with 24%, a strategic partner from the private sector with 26%, and 50% of the Company’s shares were allocated for Kuwaiti citizens through an initial public offering.
