Steve Rhee

Steve Rhee is a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Environment and Sustainability, active since October 2021, providing strategic policy analysis for sustainability goals in Southeast Asia. Concurrently, Rhee serves as a Board Member for Mongabay and Health In Harmony, contributing expertise to socio-environmental news and healthcare initiatives in forest communities. Previously, Rhee held a Senior Program Officer position at the Ford Foundation and the Climate and Land Use Alliance, focusing on natural resource rights and climate change in Indonesia. Rhee's earlier experience includes roles at the U.S. Department of State and the Center for International Forestry Research. Rhee holds multiple advanced degrees from Yale University in Natural Resources, Climate Change, Governance, and Trade, and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociocultural Anthropology from Washington University in St. Louis.
