Sheena N. McKinlay has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Sheena N. has held positions such as Vice President of Research and Development at Health Leads, where they oversaw research and technology innovation efforts and developed teams focused on innovation accountability to communities. Sheena N. also served as the Managing Director of Program and Relationships in California for Health Leads, where they fostered partnerships and developed programs to address the social determinants of health.

Sheena N. McKinlay has a diverse education history. Sheena N. began their undergraduate studies in 1997 at the University of Pennsylvania, where they pursued a double major in Neuroscience (formerly Biological Basis of Behavior) and Anthropology. Sheena N. successfully completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in 2001.
Moving forward, they attended Drexel University from 2002 to 2004, earning a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Community Health & Prevention. Shortly after, they continued their academic journey at UC Irvine from 2004 to 2009. During this time, they achieved both a Master of Arts (MA) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Anthropology. Sheena N.'sdoctoral studies specifically emphasized Critical Theory.
In addition to their anthropology and public health qualifications, Sheena pursued further education and enrichment. In 2017, they obtained a certificate in Innovation Catalyst: Human-Centered Design & Innovation for the Safety Net from the Center for Care Innovations. Sheena N. also received a Google UX Design Certificate in July 2023 through Coursera.
