Mark Nelson

Mark Nelson, MA, AHFI, is a seasoned Senior Investigator with extensive experience in health care fraud investigations at Health Net - DOD Tricare Contract since 1997. Responsibilities include leading a diverse team in identifying and investigating fraud cases across multiple states, performing data mining for fraudulent claims patterns, and utilizing advanced anti-fraud software to develop cases. Mark has received recognition for contributions, such as an Honorable Mention for DOD TRICARE Health Care Fraud Case of the Year and multiple Superior Achievement Awards. Previous roles include Special Investigator for the FBI, conducting background investigations, and Special Agent with the Office of Special Investigations - Air Force OIG, overseeing various investigative and supervisory functions. Mark holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and History from the University of Maryland and a Master of Arts in Communication from the University of Oklahoma.
