Heather Williams

Heather Williams has a diverse work experience in the field of equity, diversity, and inclusion. Heather is currently serving as the Director of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion at the Health Sciences Association of BC. Prior to this, Heather worked as an Educational Consultant at ABLE Research Consulting, where they focused on projects related to removing barriers to online learning. Heather also held multiple roles at Simon Fraser University, including as a RESPECT Curriculum Design & Co-Facilitator and a Work Integrated Learning: Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Project Manager. Heather's previous positions at Simon Fraser University involved managing equity, diversity, and inclusion projects and curriculum design.

Heather Williams holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Education from Simon Fraser University, which they have been pursuing since 2020. Prior to that, they completed a Master's Degree in Masters Equity Studies in Education from the same university from 2016 to 2019. Before their master's degree, they obtained a Certificate in Intercultural Studies from The University of British Columbia in 2016, specializing in International and Intercultural Communication. In 2010, they completed the Career Development Practitioner Program at Douglas College. Heather's undergraduate education includes a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English Literature (British and Commonwealth) from Simon Fraser University, which they obtained in 2005. Additionally, they completed a 500-hour E-RYT certification in Yoga Teacher Training/Yoga Therapy from Anusara Yoga & Hatha/Ashtanga in 2005.
