Senior Account Executive

The Senior Account Executive is responsible for day-to-day media relations and project management within accounts. As the most media-focused role on the team, they thrive on developing relationships with key members of the media and successfully pitching clients’ stories. They are also able to integrate social media into PR campaigns and have the necessary skills to communicate effectively with their clients, teams and media contacts.

Responsible for managing multiple accounts, of varying sizes. Launches and manages campaign work, delegates assignments to PR team, and ensures the needs of the client are met.

This will be a hybrid role that requires the employee to be within a commutable distance from our main locations:

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate team and drive tactical projects from conception to completion; managing timelines, budgets and client deliverables
  • Maintain and increase knowledge of clients and the industry, including trends and issues that may affect clients, their competitors and stakeholders
  • Write professional, error-free core communications materials aligned with client strategy, including press releases, key messages, Q&A’s, social media content
  • Actively participate in client calls, leading discussion on projects and areas of responsibility
  • Work with team to develop recommendations and presentations for clients
  • Develop media pitches and other media materials and pitch stories to reporters/outlets
  • Gain and maintain knowledge of the media landscape, including reporters and outlets important to H+C clients and the broader industry
  • Work with teams on new business pitches, developing research and insights
  • Develop budgets and timelines; learn about budget management, billing and agency operations
  • Coach and mentor Account Executives and Account Coordinators; provide constructive feedback when appropriate

Accountability:

  • Manages time to hours allocated; records hours daily in Harvest
  • Alerts account lead to challenges or obstacles
  • Meets or beats deadlines; clearly communicates when deadlines shift
  • Independently identifies next steps; deliverables reviewed at critical steps for accuracy, client preference, strategic alignment
  • Offers proactive ideas and solutions based on experience
  • Works according to H+C Operating Principles in all interactions
  • Represents the agency responsibly to H+C clients and new business prospects, adding value whenever possible

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years agency or in-house biotech/medtech experience
  • A. or B.S degree in communications, PR, marketing, business administration or related field
  • Excellent time management skills and attention to details
  • Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive, collegial work environment
