Jenn Compton

Jenn Compton has a diverse work experience across various roles and companies. Jenn began their career as an Assurance Intern at BDO USA, LLP in 2006, where they performed internal control walkthrough procedures and assisted with Employee Benefit Plan audits. Jenn then worked as an Assurance Associate and later as an Assurance Senior Associate at BDO USA, LLP from 2007 to 2010. In these roles, they organized and implemented audit strategies, performed analytics on account balances, researched and evaluated technical accounting issues, and interacted with clients and engagement teams.

After BDO, Jenn joined The Rose Group in 2010 as a Senior Accountant. In this role, they were responsible for the period close process, account reconciliations, and weekly P&L preparation. Jenn also tracked debt balances, prepared debt covenant calculations, monitored gift card activity, and compiled support for tax exempt sales.

In 2014, Jenn transitioned to Music Choice and took on the role of Senior Accountant. Jenn later became a Manager, Accounting in 2015 and then a Senior Manager, Accounting in 2017. At Music Choice, they oversaw financial reporting and routine accounting functions, managed external audits and required annual reporting, ensured compliance with laws and regulations, served as Plan Administrator for the 401k Plan, worked on annual benefits renewal, and evaluated vendor relationships.

Most recently, Jenn joined Heart + Paw in 2021 as a Controller.

Jenn Compton completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting at Arcadia University from 2003 to 2007. Prior to that, they attended Bucks County Community College from 2003 to 2005. Their high school education was obtained at Bensalem High School from 1999 to 2003.

In terms of additional certifications, Jenn obtained the Certified Public Accountant designation from the Department of State Pennsylvania in September 2009. Jenn also holds certifications in BlackLine Essentials for End-Users and Task Management Essentials for End-Users, obtained from BlackLine in June 2022. Additionally, they have the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) certification, although the specific details regarding its institution and the date of obtaining are not available.
