Ben Babcanec

SVP, Chief Operating Officer at Heartland Bank

Currently Heartland Bank’s senior vice president and chief operating officer, Ben Babcanec began his career with Heartland in 2001. Starting with the bank as a teller, he eventually became head of the retail division in 2012. He held that position until 2019 when he began leading public funds and wholesale deposits. Ben graduated from the University of Toledo in 2001 with a Bachelor of Business Administration, Finance; has attended the Blythe School of Banking and the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin Madison; holds the Principles of Banking Certification from the American Bankers Association; and also serves as region one director for the Community Bankers Association of Ohio. Ben’s service to the community currently includes past president and member of the Gahanna Lions Club, as well as a member of the Sunrise Masonic Lodge #783 and vice chair of the Gahanna-Jefferson Education Foundation.
