Stanley Capela has extensive work experience in the nonprofit sector, particularly in leadership roles. stanley started their career in 1978 at Catholic Charities, where they worked as Staff Development until 1983 and then became an Assistant Director until 1989. In 1989, they joined HeartShare Human Services, initially serving as the Director of Management Information Services. stanley later took on the role of Corporate Compliance Officer and was promoted to Vice President for Quality Management in 2010. Throughout their time at HeartShare Human Services, Capela was responsible for various aspects of program evaluation, quality assurance, staff development, training, and research. stanley worked closely with a wide range of program sites and was involved in facilitating groups.

Stanley Capela received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cathedral College in an unspecified year. stanley then went on to pursue a Master of Arts degree in Sociology from Fordham University, which they completed in 1977. Stanley later pursued further studies at Fordham University in the field of Sociology and reached the level of A.B.D (All But Dissertation) by 1992, but did not complete the degree.
