Ernie Kangas

Ernie Kangas has over 40 years of experience in the trade credit insurance industry. Ernie started their career at the Foreign Credit Insurance Association in 1973, where they held various roles including Credit Analyst, Financial Analyst, Assistant Branch Manager, Branch Manager, and eventually Regional Manager. In 1983, Ernie opened the west coast office for Credit Insurance Associates, a subsidiary of Hogg Robinson & Gardner Mountain. Ernie worked there until 2005, when they joined Heffernan Insurance Brokers as Vice President of Trade Credit Insurance. Ernie moved from Portland to Petaluma, CA in 2015 to be closer to their grand-daughters. Throughout their career, Ernie has specialized in creating a niche in trade credit insurance.

Ernie Kangas received a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Finance from the University of Oregon between 1970 and 1972. Ernie then went on to earn a Master's degree in International Management from the American Graduate School of International Management from 1972 to 1973. Additionally, they hold a certification as a Licensed Property and Casualty Insurance Producer from the Oregon Department of Consumer & Business Services - Insurance Division.
