Julian Yu has held a number of roles in the past decade. In 2009, they were a Research Assistant at Michigan State University's Center for Microbial Ecology, where they worked on a project to characterize switchgrass-associated bacteria. In 2014, they began their PhD Candidate role at Arizona State University. In 2020, they were a Postdoctoral Researcher at Arizona State University, and in 2021 they were a Manager of Soil Microbiome and a Bioinformatician at Heliae Development, LLC.
Julian Yu obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University in 2013, majoring in Genomics/Molecular Genetics. Julian then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy degree at Arizona State University, graduating in 2020 with a major in Microbiology.
