Anthony Defilippo

Anthony DeFilippo has a diverse work experience in the fields of solutions engineering and research. Anthony is currently working as the Director of Solutions Engineering at Heliogen. Prior to that, they worked as a Solutions Engineer at the same company. Anthony also served as a Senior Analyst at Porter McGuffie Inc., where they solved problems related to industrial applications using various analytical methods. Anthony was a Junior Researcher at Abengoa, conducting research in their role. In addition, they worked as a Graduate Student Researcher and Graduate Student Instructor at UC Berkeley, where they focused on studying combustion processes for energy efficiency applications. Anthony also served as a Research Fellow/Intern at Sandia National Laboratories. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Project Analyst at Porter McGuffie Inc., where they conducted computational and field work related to industrial processes.

Anthony DeFilippo earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kansas - School of Engineering in 2007. Anthony also obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The University of Kansas School of Business during the same period. Later, they completed their Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, from 2007 to 2013. Additionally, Anthony DeFilippo holds a certification as a Professional Engineer (PE) from the Kansas State Board of Technical Professionals.
