Principal Electrical Engineer at Heliogen

Schuyler Senft-Grupp is an experienced electrical engineer with a focus on environmental engineering and instrumentation. Schuyler began their career in 2006 as an Environmental Engineer at GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. In 2008, they joined the Rocky Mountain Institute as a Transportation Efficiency Intern.

After completing their PhD in Environmental Engineering and Instrumentation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2015, Schuyler worked as a Research Affiliate at MIT until 2018. During this time, they also served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory in 2015.

In 2015, Schuyler joined Cambridge Mobile Telematics as a Principal Electrical Engineer and held this role until 2022. Schuyler then transitioned to Heliogen, where they first worked as a Senior Electrical Engineer from February to August 2022. Subsequently, they took on the role of Senior Electrical Engineer, Manager until June 2023. Currently, Schuyler holds the position of Principal Electrical Engineer at Heliogen, starting in June 2023.

Schuyler Senft-Grupp completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2002 to 2006. From 2008 to 2015, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Environmental Engineering and Instrumentation at the same institution. In addition, Schuyler obtained certifications as a Wilderness First Responder (WFR) from Wilderness Medical Associates International in 2017, and as an Engineer In Training from California in 2007.
