Matt Stead

Matt Stead has a diverse work experience in the field of quality management and inspection. Matt is currently working at Helix Geospace, where they hold the position of Operations Manager and Quality Manager. In their role as Quality Manager, they are responsible for developing and manufacturing GNSS antenna systems and striving to obtain AS9100D certification.

Prior to joining Helix Geospace, Matt Stead worked at G W Martin and Co Ltd, starting as a Quality Inspector in 2020 and progressing to the roles of Senior Quality Inspector and Inspection Section Lead.

Before that, they worked at Mitutoyo UK Ltd as an SPC Specialist for two years starting in 2018.

Matt Stead also gained experience as a Quality Assurance Inspector/Engineer at Arrowsmith Engineering and Consultants Ltd from 2016 to 2018.

Their career began at AWE where they worked as a High-Precision Machinist for a decade starting in 2006.

Matt Stead has a diverse education history. Matt began their education in 2001 at Costello Technology College, where they pursued a degree in Engineering and obtained their GCSE. From 2006 to 2007, they attended Basingstoke College of Technology and earned a BTec first diploma in Engineering. In 2007, Matt enrolled in Newbury College and completed the ONC program in Mechanical Engineering from 2007 to 2009.

More recently, in 2020, Matt started studying at The Open University, where they are currently pursuing a Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) with a focus in Law.

In addition to their formal education, Matt has also obtained several certifications. In 2011, they received the PC-DMIS Level 1 certification from Hexagon. Subsequently, in 2018, Matt acquired the certifications of MeasurLink Super User, Mitutoyo MCOSMOS Advanced, and Mitutoyo MCOSMOS Basic from Mitutoyo UK Ltd. In 2019, they completed the Level 3 Education & Training certification from City & Guilds. Most recently, in 2020, Matt obtained the Mitutoyo FormTracer certification from Mitutoyo UK Ltd.
