Senior Bioinformatics Scientist II at Helix

Hang Dai is a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist II at Helix since October 2021, having previously held the position of Senior Bioinformatics Scientist I. Prior to Helix, Hang Dai worked as a Postdoctoral Associate at Duke University School of Medicine from March 2019 to October 2021, where projects included developing a statistical framework for germline small indel calling quality and a tool for de-duplicating sequencing reads. Hang Dai's doctoral research at Baylor College of Medicine involved creating a reference-free method for quantifying genetic differences and analyzing genetic variants associated with hearing impairment. An earlier undergraduate experience at Fudan University focused on protein-protein interactions in Arabidopsis thaliana. Hang Dai holds a Ph.D. in Molecular and Human Genetics from Baylor College of Medicine and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Fudan University.
