Maria Muscat has a range of work experience in different industries. Maria started their career as a tutor at Kumon North America, Inc., where they taught math and reading to children aged 3-16. Maria analyzed, guided, and evaluated lesson plans to optimize educational progress and provided positive reinforcement to keep students on-task.
After that, Maria worked as a Customer Service Representative at Hello Innovation. Maria coordinated floral deliveries for funeral services across the United States and Canada, utilizing problem-solving techniques to ensure timely delivery. Maria also advocated for customers in various situations, resolving conflicts through empathetic listening.
Currently, Maria is employed at Michigan Medicine as a Registered Nurse. Prior to this role, they gained practical experience as a Nursing Student through clinical placements at various units within Michigan Medicine University Hospital. Maria gained experience in acute care, medical-surgical, psychiatric, and mental health units, further strengthening their skills in the healthcare field.
Maria Muscat enrolled in Wayne State University from 2018 to 2020, where they pursued a degree in Pre-Nursing. Following that, they attended the University of Michigan School of Nursing from 2020 to 2023, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with a specialization in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse.

- In January 2022, Maria obtained certification in "Adolescent-Screening Brief Intervention & Referral to Treatment (SBIRT)" from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
- Maria also completed the "ZSA Suicide Awareness Training" certification from the Zero Suicide Alliance in January 2022.
