Stephen Coote

Stephen Coote has a diverse work experience in various finance and leadership roles. Starting in 2006, they worked at Westpac as a Manager in Fraud Prevention and Recoveries. From 2009 to 2011, they were an Executive in Finance and Business Risk at GFN, a conglomerate. Stephen then joined the Australian Government, where they served as Executive Group Reporting and Governance, Divisional CFO, and Internal Audit leader from 2011 to 2014. Coote then moved to Flinders University as Head of Finance and Commercial and Org Chief Commercial Officer from 2014 to 2016. Stephen further took on roles at ActewAGL, where they served as Divisional CFO and Transformation Executive from 2016 to 2019. Coote also worked in various consulting positions, including Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, Head of Financial Reporting, Director of Finance Transformation, and Head of Finance and Commercial. Stephen was additionally a Board Member at Masonicare from 2017 to 2023. Coote is currently a Member of the Regional Engagement Group at AICPA and serves as Group Executive, Deputy Chief Financial Officer, and Head of M&A and Investments at Helloworld Travel Limited. Stephen is also a Member of the Global Finance & Corporate Governance Alumni Industry Panel at the Australian Institute of Business.

Stephen Coote has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of South Australia. Stephen also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Australian Institute of Business. In addition, Stephen has completed a Graduate Diploma in Innovation & Design Thinking from Emeritus and a Graduate Diploma in Management Accounting from the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants. Stephen further obtained a Graduate Diploma in Management from the Australian Institute of Business. Stephen's education also includes a Bachelor of Sustainable Performance Management (Hons) from The Manchester Metropolitan University.

Furthermore, Stephen has several additional certifications. Stephen is a CMMI Associate certified by the CMMI Institute. Stephen has obtained the COBIT certification from ISACA and holds certifications as a Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT) from ISACA. Stephen has also achieved certifications in ITIL Release Control and Validation (ITIL-RCV), MSP Practitioner, MoP Certifications, MoR Certifications, MoV Certifications from AXELOS Global Best Practice. Additionally, they hold the PCI Professional certification from PCISSC and is a PRINCE2 2017 Practitioner certified by AXELOS Global Best Practice.
