Prof. Dr. Matthias Rehahn

Prof. Dr. Matthias Rehahn is a prominent figure in polymer chemistry and technology transfer, currently serving as the wissenschaftlich-technischer Geschäftsführer at Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht since September 2019. As the founder and shareholder of Smart4Poly GmbH, established in March 2014, Matthias Rehahn focuses on practical applications of plastics. Previously, Matthias Rehahn held various significant academic and leadership positions, including Vizepräsident for knowledge and technology transfer at Technische Universität Darmstadt and leading the polymer chemistry department there. Matthias Rehahn has also contributed to the Fraunhofer Institute, Deutsches Kunststoff-Institut, and served as a visiting professor at Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz. Educational credentials include a habilitation in polymer chemistry from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and advanced studies in polymer sciences at ETH Zurich.
