Alvaro Zimba

Alvaro Zimba is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in social work and program management, currently serving as a Senior Social Worker at the Ministry of Gender, Child and Social Action since October 2019. With a strong background at HelpAge International since July 2007, Alvaro has held various leadership roles, including Emergency Project Manager and Coordinator of Social Protection and Livelihoods Program, where responsibilities encompassed work planning, budgeting, implementation, and advocacy for social protection initiatives. Previous positions include Monitoring and Evaluation Officer at World Vision, Activity Manager at USAID Mission, Head of Psycho Social Support at the Ministry of Gender, and leadership roles at the Provincial Directorate of Social Welfare. Alvaro holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management, Public Policy and Development from the University of the Witwatersrand and a Bachelor Degree in Social Work from the University of Zimbabwe.
