Samuel Wood

Samuel Wood is an experienced humanitarian professional currently serving as the Global Head of Humanitarian at HelpAge International since September 2020. Previous roles include Director of Operations at St Peter's Church Brighton, and various positions within Save the Children International, including Humanitarian Director for the Ethiopia Country Office and Director of Programme Operations for the Palestine Country Office. Samuel's career also includes significant contributions as a Humanitarian Preparedness and Disaster Risk Reduction Adviser at Save the Children and as a Humanitarian Support Manager at Tearfund. Earlier experience encompasses roles at Crisis Action and Partner Aid International, where responsibilities included campaigning and earthquake humanitarian response. Academically, Samuel holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Portsmouth and a Master of Philosophy in Criminology from the University of Cambridge.
