Niiya McKenzie-Walker

Project Manager & Level 1 Research Associate at Helps Education Fund

Niiya McKenzie-Walker joined the Helps Education Fundteam in the Summer of 2020, initially volunteering with the UNC Charlotte HELPS Summer Reading Program. Niiya is a first- year Ph.D student in the School Psychology program at North Carolina State University working under Dr. John Begeny. She received her B.A. in Psychology from Winston-Salem State University. While at WSSU, Niiya was a University Learning Assistant and member of the Minority Academic Achievement and Development (M.A.A.D) Lab. Niiya’s research interests include racial equity in academic settings, cultural neuroscience, and Community Psychology.

When not working or attending classes, Niiya enjoys taking care of her two dogs, shopping, and going on adventures.
