Henderson Collegiate is a free, K-12 college preparatory public charter school dedicated to transforming rural public education for low-income families in North Carolina. Open to all students in North Carolina, Henderson Collegiate is committed to providing an exceptional education to students who are historically under-served in our community. Henderson Collegiate’s mission is to empower our students to become better people, attend and graduate from the college of their choice, and change the world.

Henderson Collegiate opened in the summer of 2010 with a 4th grade class of 100 students. Now, Henderson Collegiate is a full K-12 program that serves over 1,300 students across our elementary, middle and high school.

The Instruction and Academic Support team at Henderson Collegiate is responsible for enhancing the educational experience and outcomes for students through various roles. This team supports teachers with effective instructional strategies, oversees curriculum development, provides targeted coaching, and ensures alignment with collegiate goals. They also guide students in college preparatory processes, helping them navigate pathways to higher education.
