Jo Lerpiniere

Jo Lerpiniere has a diverse work experience spanning over many years. Most recently, in 2021, they joined Sosei Heptares as the Director and Research Informatics Group Leader. In this role, they built a team of data scientists and informaticians to support research and development projects by providing data-driven solutions and integrations.

Before joining Sosei Heptares, Jo worked at Vernalis for a significant part of their career. From 2003 to 2021, they held the position of Informatics Manager, where they were responsible for delivering, optimizing, and supporting chemical and biological information systems. They also provided innovative solutions to complex data and informatics requirements. Prior to this, from 2001 to 2003, Jo served as the sole member of the Informatics department as a Principal Scientist, taking charge of the chemistry and biology database, intranet, and the creation of informatics tools. During this time, they created ActivityBase templates and developed visualisation tools.

Before joining Vernalis, Jo worked at Novartis Institute for Medical Sciences as a Medicinal Chemist from 1993 to 1998. Additionally, at Vernalis, they held the position of Senior Scientist in Medicinal Chemistry from 1998 to 2001 where they worked on A2A receptors for the treatment of Parkinson's disease and managed a graduate scientist.
