Alex Hanford is a project engineer, naval architect, and marine engineer at Herbert Engineering Corp. Alex has also worked as an engineering intern at Aqualis Offshore, Military Sealift Command, and Tidewater Marine.

Alex Hanford started their career as an engineering intern at Aqualis Offshore in January 2014. Alex worked extensively on the conversion project of two Jack-Up drilling rigs to accommodation units. Alex also performed plan review, developed weather loading plans, and analyzed intact and damaged stability using General Hydrostatics (GHS). In addition, they worked on the concept design of a newbuild liftboat including extensive 3D modelling in Rhinoceros.

In January 2013, Alex Hanford started working as a deck/engine cadet at Military Sealift Command. Alex served onboard USNS William Mclean and USNS Henry J. Kaiser as an engine cadet, performing maintenance and repair of ships machinery. Alex also served on the deck crew during underway replenishments of dry and liquid cargos to US Naval Vessels.

Alex Hanford’s career began in January 2012 when they started working as an engineering intern at Tidewater Marine.

Alex Hanford graduated from Webb Institute with a Bachelor of Science in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering.

They are on a team with Luca Letizia - Managing Director, Glasgow, UK, Colin Moore - Manager, Advanced Analysis & Salvage, and J.L. Gaitley IV - Senior Associate, Senior Marine Engineer. Alex Hanford reports to Hendrik Bruhns, President.
